What is IDPA & Defensive Shooting?

IDPA as a sport is quite simply the use of practical equipment including full charge service ammunition to solve simulated “real world” self-defense scenarios. Shooters competing in IDPA events are required to use practical handguns and holsters that are truly suitable for self-defense use. No “competition only” equipment is permitted in IDPA matches since the main goal is to test the skill and ability of an individual, not his equipment or gamesmanship.

As a member and IDPA affiliated club, OPSC intends to run its match as close to the current IDPA rulebook, as much as our facilities and resources permit.

General Information...
OPSC will be sponsoring several matches this year, open to club members and the public.  Activities consist of setup on Saturday, with the match on Sunday. We ask that all participants plan on staying 5 minutes after each match, to help with the teardown of the stages.

Please contact us at OPSCDP for additional information.
